Optimal aluminium thickness

The ultra-compact solution for tight spaces.
When every centimetre counts, the roller garage door is the most practical alternative. Unlike sectional or tilt systems, its curtain — made of insulated aluminium slats (AG-77 profile) — rolls up directly into a closed casing above the opening. It is the ideal solution if your garage has a very low ceiling, exposed pipework, or if you want to keep 100% of your overhead storage space.

— Quality and longevity
The curtain is built from high-quality AG-77 aluminium profiles with a dual-layer coating. These profiles provide both thermal and acoustic insulation. Extruded and rigid, they guarantee excellent corrosion resistance thanks to top-grade aluminium and a two-layer powder lacquer.

Polyurethane coating with polyamide particles, very solid and corrosion-resistant. Dual-layer lacquer of 25 to 30 microns offering high resistance to scratches and cracking.
Polyurethane foam filling, free of CFCs and HCFCs. The even, void-free foam delivers strong mechanical performance.
The curtain is laboratory-tested to European standard EN 12424, which defines wind-load requirements and classification for doors in the closed position. The achievable class depends on the curtain's width and surface area.
| Wind resistance class (EN 12424) | Max. width (m) | Max. area (m²) |
|---|---|---|
| Class 1 | 7.67 | 26.85 |
| Class 2 | 6.28 | 21.98 |
| Class 3 | 5.24 | 18.32 |
| Class 4 | 4.08 | 14.26 |

The roller curtain has insulating properties thanks to its polyurethane foam filling, but its performance remains lower than a sectional door's. The thicker the panel, the better the insulation. If thermal insulation is critical to your project, check whether the indoor clearance allows a sectional door instead.
No overhang. You can park your vehicle right up against the door, both inside and out, while keeping the ceiling completely free.
This system was specifically developed to solve impossible configurations, where lack of front or side clearance prevents the installation of any other type of door.
Equipped with an integrated opener as standard, the door operates smoothly and with great acoustic comfort for your morning departures.
No ceiling rail, no separate motor: everything is housed in the casing. Clean installation, minimal footprint.
— Transparent advice
Less massive and armoured than a sectional door or a classic non-overhanging tilt door, the security of this roller shutter relies primarily on the weight of its aluminium curtain. We recommend this option above all for its installation flexibility in enclosed boxes or private residential garages.
